In the South Baltic region, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) play a crucial role in the economy but face significant challenges in international expansion. Only 34% of them conduct business beyond national borders, due to numerous barriers such as financial constraints, lack of knowledge about foreign markets, and complex legal regulations.
Goal of the project
SMEBeyond is a project designed to change this situation. Its primary goal is to support SMEs in the South Baltic region in areas such as renewable energy, sustainable urban development, water and waste management, packaging, plasma technology, and the maritime industry. The project provides essential tools, knowledge, and support to help companies successfully expand into international markets.
Benefits for companies participating in the SMEBeyond project:
- Internationalization Support: Assistance in overcoming barriers related to international expansion, such as lack of funds, foreign market knowledge, and complex legal regulations.
- Access to Global Markets: Through collaboration with the International Cleantech Network (ICN), companies gain access to global markets and cutting-edge technologies, enhancing their competitiveness.
- Network Building: Opportunities to establish connections with international business partners, particularly from Sweden, Denmark, Germany, and Lithuania, opening new avenues for cooperation and development.
- Workshops and Training: Participation in workshops and training sessions tailored to the specific needs of companies, helping them better prepare for entering foreign markets.
- Financial and Advisory Support: The project offers financial and advisory support to help companies during the high-risk phase of international expansion.
- Innovation Enhancement: Promotion of innovative collaboration, helping companies develop new technologies and services, increasing their attractiveness in international markets.
